NY Times, Google und paid content

Medien / Netzkultur

Adam L. Penenberg fragt in einem Artikel in Wired: «How can the mighty New York Times, which considers itself America’s paper of record, be the paper of record in cyberspace when its articles barely show up on Google?»
Wired News: Searching for The New York Times
«Even though the Lexis-Nexis deal is an all-you-can-eat model – not based on usage – the Times can ill afford to undermine its relationship with such an important customer. It simply can’t charge Lexis-Nexis tens of millions of dollars while giving away the same content free over the Web.»

«Weblogger Dave Winer has bet against The New York Times Digital CEO Martin Nisenholtz that weblogs will rank higher than The New York Times‘ website in the top five news stories of 2007.»
